I have worked in a science based role since leaving school at 16 – initially at for Boots plc. in the microbiology laboratories, and have worked here since 1997. I achieved Registered Science Technician status in March 2015.
I trained in Health & Safety (IOSH Health and Safety) and use this qualification to provide date for the academy's accident database and reporting.
ONC Biology, HNC Biology, Foundation degree in Education support practices, BA in Education and inclusion.
I wanted to be a governor as I wished to broaden my experiences within the school environment, and to understand more about the policies and practices throughout the trust. Having worked at the school for nearly 20 years I have experienced many changes in government education policies, the school environment and seen the expansion of the George Spencer Academy and George Spencer Trust, and can call upon these experiences within the governor role.
I have a personal interest in special needs education and inclusion as my niece has Downs Syndrome and my sister is deaf.
